Mets 12th Walkoff Loss of Year, 3-2 In 13 Innings

The Los Angeles Dodgers(52-46) defeated the Mets(50-48) by a score of 3-2. James Loney hit a walk off home run(7) off relief pitcher Oliver Perez in the 13th to send the dodger faithful home happy, but the Mets home with their 12 walk off loss of the year. Perez got the Mets out of a jam in the 12th but served a high fastball to Loney who made him pay. Mike Pelfrey started for the Mets, allowing two runs and six hits through five innings. The Mets bullpen allowed only one run in 7 innings of relief.

Bottom Line, Mets have lost 12 out of last 16 games and are 7.5 games behind the first place Atlanta Braves.

…they need to win today; it is a crucial game to win; even with a win today, the Mets will have gone 3-8 on this roadtrip, even with the way they play at home I wonder if they can recover from such a terrible string that has put them at the edge of contention…
