Coaching Staff Safe, For Now..

After the Mets 2-9 roadtrip in which they averaged just a hair over two runs a game, the hitting coach Howard Johnson’s job was in serious question. Omar Minaya gave no vote of confidence to his coach Sunday after the 1-0 loss to the Dodgers. Omar said that Jerry and him were going to meet on the plane and talk about moving forward and making things right. However ESPN’s Adam Rubin reports that the Mets organization has decided to keep the coaching staff intact, for now.

…I dont understand how Hojo’s is still the hitting coach. The Mets batted .196 during the west coast swing, and had 24, 17 and 16 inning scoreless droughts. The bottomline is the Mets are not right and I think Omar should have made a move to shake things up, that being said, if the Mets continue their offensive woes, I would look for Howard Johnson being reassigned within the organization…
