|Ibanez hit a devastating 3 run homer in the
third off of Dickey, the Met offense
was not able to muster enough to comeback.
The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Mets 6-5 sunday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. Roy Halladay was responsible for all five runs the Mets scored.

The Least You Should Know:
◦R.A. Dickey started for the Mets, and was ineffective through three innings, allowing all six runs to the Phillies including a solo home run to Jayson Werth and a three run home run to Raul Ibanez.
◦Both Jose Reyes and Angel Pagan combined to go 4 for 8, but David Wright, Carlos Beltran and Ike Davis combined to go 1 for 12 on the afternoon.
◦Wright and Beltran combined to go 5 for 45 on the road trip.
◦The Mets are now 14-22 in one run games this season.
…Obviously Wright needs to step it up, 3 hits in 6 games is not enough, he needs to rise and carry the team. Beltran on the otherhand has been terrible since returning from the DL. He is batting .195, that just is not getting it done. they need to sit him down and play Angel Pagan, Fernando Martinez and Jeff Francour everyday, at least until Jason Bay returns…
…this is a terrible loss, this road trip was a disaster, they lost two of three from both the Braves and the Phillies, any chance for the playoffs is very bleak, but as I said, if the Mets start winning series after series and a team chokes, anything can happen…
