Although possibly meaningless, Carlos Beltran cleared waivers yesterday, meaning he can be traded to any major league team, but he still has a full no-trade clause and would likely oppose a deal. Beltran is hitting .195 on the year. He has not looked good in the field or at bat. The knee brace he wares really impedes his game that was built off of versatility he no longer has. I don’t see Beltran ever being the player he was in 2007 in which he hit 41 homers, but I think he will return to all star caliber form, the question is how long will it take?
