The Mets officially report to Port St. Lucie, Florida on February 15th and first pitchers and catchers workout is February 17th. According to Matt Cerrone, Nick Evans is set to arrive tonight, and David Wright will arrive later this week.
Manager Terry Collins believes up to 30 players will report by the start of next week. Collins camp is set to be much different than the camp under Jerry Manuel. “We are not going to be out here for hours. We are going to get a lot of work done in smaller groups. There will be things we work on on a daily basis. We’ll try to bring some energy, let the guys have some fun and get them in and get them out. We’re excited to get going.”
One thing we can hope is the 100 pitch opposite field drill is gone forever!
