METS BEAT D-BACKS 8-4; EXTEND WINNING STREAK

The New York Mets (9-13) beat the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 8-4 on Sunday afternoon at Citi Field.

NIESE AND EASY: Jon Niese won his first start since Sep 5th, improving his season total to 1-3. Niese went seven innings strong, giving up 2 earned runs, walking 2 and striking out 3.

HE’S ALL WRIGHT: Since his career low 0-20 skid, David Wright is mashing the ball. He went 2-4, with 2 dingers and 3 runs batted in.

ITS A BEAUTIFUL BAY: Bay went 1-3 on the day, but more importantly the team is 4-0 since his return.

I LIKE IKE: Ike Davis went 2-3 on the day, with an RBI and a run scored, and extended his hitting streak to 7 games.

OH SO PRIDIE: Jason Pridie picked up his first Major League hit yesterday, and picked up another milestone today, a homerun that he hit a MILE, the first of his career, a three run shot in the third!

BYE BYE D.J.: The Mets optioned RHP D.J. Carrasco to Triple A Buffalo after the game today. He gave up a run on two hits, while just recording one out, and increasing his season ERA to 5.91.

NEXT STOPS: Washington D.C. The Mets will square off with the Nationals for a three game set before heading to Philadelphia for three more.
