Reyes Pulled From Game; MRI Sunday

Jose Reyes was removed from today’s game by Mets Manager Terry Collins due to tightness in his left hamstring that he felt after his first inning infield single. Carlos Beltran told reporters after the game that Reyes told him he was fine, and that he shouldn’t worry. Reyes is to have an MRI tomorrow to find the extent of the injury. Collins has already told Angel Pagan that he will be the leadoff hitter until Reyes returns.

…without Reyes in the lineup the Mets ARE their AAA affiliate the Buffalo Bison’s. The Mets cannot stay in contention without Reyes playing at his peak—let alone not playing. Bad news tomorrow could also signal the end of an era. You may have seen Jose Reyes hit a triple for the last time for the Mets…

  1. if he's out a considerable amount of time after the break do you think it will hurt the progress he's made establishing himself as a $20 mill/year guy?
