Paul Requests Trade to Knicks

According to a Yahoo! Sports article earlier today, New Orleans Hornets All Star PG Chris Paul has requested a trade to the New York Knicks.

Chris Paul’s(notes) agent informed New Orleans Hornets officials on Wednesday that his client will not sign a contract extension and wants to be traded to the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. As soon as the NBA lifts its lockout restrictions, Hornets general manager Dell Demps wants to meet with Paul and hear that directive from him.”- Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears, Yahoo! Sports

Chris Paul wants to be a Knick, and thats the best thing about this news. Yet, he most likely won’t become a Knick until the 2012-2013 season when he hits the FA market. By all reports the Knicks most likely won’t be able to acquire him through trade, because they have no pieces left after last years Carmelo Anthony deal.

So, Knicks fans, be optimistic. There are strong indications that Paul wants to be a Knick, and the Knicks obviously want Paul. For now, we are just going to have to wait. Trust me, it will be worth it…
